Corona Special 2022

Vaccinate, Protect, Save Lives

Since the early summer of 2022, we have again experienced a steep rise in the number of corona infections. New virus variants such as the omicron subtypes BA.4 and BA.5 are causing a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases.

Like the omicron mutant itself, its subtypes appear in most cases to result in milder courses than their predecessors alpha and delta. However, those individuals who have not been fully vaccinated or who suffer from pre-existing conditions remain at risk of experiencing a severe course.

What does vaccination mean for patients with congenital heart defects? What are the possible consequences of Covid 19 disease? And what should patients continue to pay attention to? We will provide information on the current state of knowledge about Corona hereinafter.
