Thanks to refined surgical techniques, transposition of the great arteries (TGA) can nowadays be well treated.

Rare Combination: TGA with "Hole in the Heart" and LVOTO

TGA is one of the most common serious congenital heart defects. Thanks to research, most of those affected can now live with it for a long time and increasingly better after correction. This is also true for the rare combination of TGA, VSD and LVOTO. However, many important questions remain unanswered.

OptAHF paves the way for the treatment and further research of congenital heart defects. The Innovation Committee of the German Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) has funded the long-term project. The results will now be used for the further development of guidelines.
