Our Infrastructure for Your Research
Research Databases and Setup of the Register
The Competence Network provides its infrastructure also for your multicenter research projects. Our research service supports you all the way from the implementation of databases up to the performance of your studies.
We are familiar with the special requirements of multicenter studies. Our research network has longstanding expertise in setting up registers, as well as study and image databases that conform to patient data protection laws. The National Register’s logistics and databases are the basis for national and international long-term studies.

Research Databases at the Competence Network
Besides the National Register’s data and samples, the database infrastructure and database management of the Competence Network for Congenital Heart Defects constitute a solid basis for international research. They ensure standardized processes with regard to the performance and analysis of multicenter studies. High quality recording and evaluation of MRI data takes place in the Study Database of the Competence Network for Congenital Heart Defects. For this, scientists across the world provide comprehensive text, image and measurement data from clinical studies conducted at the Competence Network for Congenital Heart Defects. Researchers have access to comprehensive data and image material. Furthermore, we offer you our database infrastructure, as well as a comprehensive research service, for your own clinical studies.
Continuous Study Support
The Competence Network’s Study Management supports researchers with the implementation of their research platform, data management, study management and monitoring. Moreover, our team also advises participating researchers and institutions regarding questions of study design; it supports them with ethics proposals and decision procedures; and it takes care of a reliable selection of appropriate data and samples.
